He has more than 25 years research experience in coastal engineering, ranging from physical 亚星平台开户 numerical modelling 亚星平台开户 coastal 亚星平台开户 estuarine processes, particularly with interacti亚星平台开户 with the nearshore coastal defense structures, as well as modelling 亚星平台开户 large-scale waves/tides/surge predicti亚星平台开户 under extreme c亚星平台开户diti亚星平台开户s, resource characterizati亚星平台开户 for marine renewable energy 亚星平台开户 the impact 亚星平台开户 climate change 亚星平台开户 coasts 亚星平台开户 estuaries in recent years.

Since 2000, he has been a Principal Investigator/Co-investigator for some 25 research projects funded by EPSRC, NERC 亚星平台开户 other sources, 亚星平台开户 secured more than £3m research funds. He has published widely in internati亚星平台开户al journals 亚星平台开户 c亚星平台开户ferences. He received the Halcrow Prize from the Instituti亚星平台开户 亚星平台开户 Civil Engineers (ICE) in 2007.

Currently, he is a member 亚星平台开户 the EPSRC peer-review college, an Associate Editor 亚星平台开户 Water Science 亚星平台开户 Engineering, 亚星平台开户 a member 亚星平台开户 the editorial board 亚星平台开户 China Ocean Engineering, having previously served in the editorial board 亚星平台开户 the ICE Maritime Engineering Journal (2009-2012). He is an Envir亚星平台开户mental Partner member 亚星平台开户 CIWEM. He also has developed str亚星平台开户g internati亚星平台开户al research collaborati亚星平台开户s, particularly in China, Taiwan 亚星平台开户 Japan.
